A ‘mutant’ two-headed pig born with four eyes and two snouts has left villagers astounded and a farmer squealing with delight.
Farmer Jing Guanglan thinks the deformed creature which has four eyes and two snouts will attract hordes of visitors, some of whom may want to buy it.
The poor animal is barely able to walk owing to the weight of its twin heads. But the pig farmer Jing Guanglan is now feeding it milk powder and vegetables so that it will grow big and strong.
This animal was one of a litter of 11 piglets born four days ago in Beiyan Village, in the township of Gaoguan, in Chengkou County, in China’s Chongqing municipality
The piglet, who has not yet been given a name, weighed 1.5 kilograms (3.3lbs) and was 30 centimetres (12ins) long.
After overcoming his initial shock at seeing the strange-looking pig, Guanglan is now giving it special treatment and caring for it like a baby. He also created a special room so that it is not bullied by its siblings.
Delighted Guanglan said: “I was very shocked at first but now I believe it is a sign. The piglet will bring me luck, I am positive.”
Experts say the male piglet has a rare genetic defect that only affects one in 100,000.
Deformed animals have been known to fetch vast sums in China. However, most do not live longer than a few days.
